Will the Sun Set on Humanity for the Last Time December 21st 2012?
It will be a dark day for humans especially in the Northern Hemisphere!
It is the Winter Solstice – what do you expect? December 21st 2012 is the darkest day of the year. At noon the sun will be at its most southern point in the sky just like previous years.
But what about the 2012 Mayan Prophecy? Doesn’t their calendar end on December 21st? I subscribe to the opinion that this particular calendar is coming to an end so a new one can begin. Just like our Gregorian calendar resets every January 1st since 1582. And let’s face it – The Mayans weren’t prophetic about their own demise so how could they have predicted ours? If you need more reassurance – NASA has released a video to debunk the 2012 Mayan Prophecy Apocalypse:
Could a large Asteroid hit Earth again? Of course it could and there is supposedly one heading towards Earth that could potentially hit April 13th 2036. Check out the big brain on Astrobiologist Neil DeGrasse Tyson as he explains: Oops – it looks like this vidoe has been removed from YouTube.
Let’s look on the bright side! December 21st 2012 will be just another day. December 22nd 2012 will bring more daylight then the previous day. Days will again get longer and longer as we approach the Summer Solstice on June 21st 2013. Don’t lose sleep over the 2036 asteroid hitting us as we have ample time to prepare for it. NASA and Bruce Willis already figured out how to save the world from a nasty comet in Armaggeddon – I’m sure we can figure out a way to save humanity by 2036!
Besides even if I’m wrong that nothing will happens on December 21st you won’t be around to say ‘I told you so!”
Enjoy your Winter Solstice and look forward to the brighter days ahead! 🙂
