Dr. Jory Bike ShirtDr. Jory Basso, BSc(Hon), Dip SIM, CSCS, DC, MEd student, found his passion for sports therapy and chiropractic care after suffering numerous injuries during high school sport. His many rehabilitation sessions provided exposure to various types of therapy. This fueled his interest in studying human anatomy, physiology, nutrition, biomechanics, treatment and rehabilitation of injuries and conditions.

From early on Dr. Jory realized that he needed to create multifaceted treatment plans to help maximize patient results. When creating a patient’s ‘hybrid treatment plan’ he draws on almost 20yrs experience helping elite athletes, weekend warriors and office workers towards better health. By combining the best therapies, patient education on nutrition, stress reduction, stretching and strengthening – Dr. Jory will have you back to doing the things you love as soon as possible!


Sheridan CollegeUniversity of GuelphDr. Jory was accepted into a combined Degree/Diploma program at the University of Guelph and Sheridan College in 1996. In this intensive program, seven years of education was condensed into five. A Bachelor of Biological Science Honours Degree specialized in Human Kinetics and a Diploma in Sports Injury Management was obtained.

Canadian Memorial Chiropractic CollegeHe completed the four year Doctor of Chiropractic Diploma in 2005 at Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) in Toronto. He serves clients in the financial district of downtown Toronto within GoodLife Fitness 137 Yonge St. as the Clinic Director and founder of Hybrid Health and Fitness.


Dr. Jory has been a professor at George Brown College in Toronto for the past six years and is currently teaching Biology in the Pre-Health Science Program. He has previously taught Anatomy/Physiology, Chemistry, Physics, and Pathology to nursing students pursuing a BScN. Dr. Jory also mentors international professors in the college teacher training program and has served as Biology faculty lead multiple times facilitating Peer Learning Groups to help increase retention and student success. His many clinical and ‘real world’ examples are much appreciated by his students. This experience has sharpened his diagnostic skills and increased his clinical expertise. Sports Therapist and Team Trainer

Dr. Jory was Sports Therapist and Team Trainer with the Peterborough Pagan’s Rugby Club, Guelph Gryphon’s Hockey and Toronto Varsity Blue’s Hockey and Football Teams. He provided strength and conditioning advice at the University of Guelph weight and circuit training rooms.

He has voluntarily treated marathon runners at the finish line of The GoodLife Fitness Toronto Marathon as part of the official medical services team. In 2011 he competed in the GoodLife Toronto half-marathon bettering his pre-race goal by eight minutes.

Dr. Jory is a Golf Fitness Instructor and is certified as a Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) with the National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA). He is certified in the application of SpiderTech Kinesiology Tape and has worked at some of the top chiropractic and sports injury clinics in Toronto.

Jory Basso Triathlon RunningFitness Enthusiast and Blogger

Dr. Jory is very passionate about fitness. He believes in finding a balance between cardiovascular fitness, endurance, strength, toning and flexibility. Retired from hockey and basketball due to knee surgeries, he is now an avid cyclist, golfer and exercise junkie. Dr. Jory not only preaches health and fitness – he practices it! He recently completed a Half Marathon and a Triathlon and is constantly seeking out new physical challenges and adventures.

Speaking of new challenges – he completed his third and fourth grueling knee surgeries in 2014 and underwent reconstructive surgery on his ankle to rebuild injured ligaments from an old basketball injury in 2015. He was the recipient of a knee cartilage transplant and also underwent a femoral microfracture. Dr. Jory can empathize with your condition as he has overcome many injuries.
